Time for a stroll?

Time for a stroll?

For those of our delegates arriving in Salford for the conference and staying at Salford Quays, if you have a couple of days spare before conference begins why not try this short walk around the Quays.  You'll get good photo opportunities from the Millennium Bridge, see the Imperial War Museum North and walk over the Trafford Wharf Road swing bridge, one of the relics from the great shipping age of the area when the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal opened the way for large sea vessels to sail into Salford and Manchester.

If you cross Trafford road, the main road in front of the entrance to Salford Quays, and go up Ordsall Lane, you'll come across Ordsall Hall, a unique gem in the middle of urban housing and industrial workplaces.  Ordsall Hall has recently reopened after massive restoration work and is over 750 years Old.  This architectural gem and its ghost cam (yes really it’s haunted!) is well worth a visit!  Thanks go to Stephen Savory for the map and route.
