The Hive - showcasing work
In this video Alex Fenton talks about the Hive, an interactive space for students and alumni to showcase their creative work. Alex developed the Hive as a final project for his MA in Creative Technology.
Alex states: "the Hive aids collaboration and opportunities, enables a personal web space to be created and produces a searchable central pool of creative ideas and projects. Anyone is welcome to join the Hive."
There is also a Hive space in the virtual world of Second Life, which forms an extension of the Hive website hub.
In a nutshell, the Hive enable its members to make links to people, opportunities and information. Furthermore, the Hive can work in tandem with your existing website, blog or creative group. Members can also bring their existing blog into your Hive space or embed your existing media from YouTube etc.
The Hive has been selected as a feature in the forthcoming MediaCityUK University of Salford foyer space. This means that anyone that joins the Hive has a chance of their work being shown in this cutting edge space.
